Prophets are also Mankind - Quran Chapter 7 – 63 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-970) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 7 – 63 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-970) - درس قرآن

Prophets are also Mankind

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

63.  Marvel ye that a reminder has come unto you from your Lord by means of a man among you, that he may warn you, and that ye may keep away from evil, and that haply ye may find mercy.
63.  ‘Awa  ‘ajibtum  ‘an  jaaa-‘akum  zikrum-mir-Rabbikum  ‘alaa  rajulim-minkum  liyunzira-kum  wa  li-tattaquu  wa  la-‘allakum  turhamuun.

Commentary
Zikrun – (a reminder), zikr means “to remind” and that thing is called zikr also, by means of which, someone is reminded through a verbal reminder or a letter etc. Holy Qur-‘an is a Zikr too and entire Revelations of Allah Almighty, which His Messengers (peace be upon Them) brought unto the human beings, are Zikr (Remembrance). Because by means of them, those promises are reminded, of which, the mankind has taken promise from Allah Almighty before his birth that he will do as promised. And in which there is betterment from beginning to end for the mankind.

La-‘alla  - (haply, perhaps), this word discloses strong hope regarding happening of anything, which is called “Expectation”.

The Messenger Noah (peace be upon Him) conveyed the Message of Allah Almighty to His folk and said: I am a Messenger of Allah Almighty. Then He (peace be upon Him) described about the aim and mission of His work.

It is commanded that Noah (peace be upon Him) asked from His people: Do you say me a liar and consider it a marvel matter that the Revelation is revealed from your Lord upon a man, who is like you and an individual from you, and His only object is that He warns you by means of that Revelation from the consequence of choosing the way against humanity, and due to fear you should begin to escape from evil deeds, and then there may be a strong hope that you may find mercy?

Purpose of coming of the Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon Them) in the world has been explained in this verse. It is duty of the Messenger (peace be upon Him) that He should come unto the human beings along with the Message of Allah Almighty, as well as He should also be a mankind. The Prophets’ physical and spiritual powers have this balance and equilibrium that with those powers; They (peace be upon Them) become able to guide other entire people. This balance and equilibrium in the Messenger is natural and by birth. Any effort or profession of any individual has no access in it.

The Messenger (peace be upon Him) is an example of good conduct for the human beings of the world. He does never commit any such work which is harmful for the mankind. His only job is to frighten the people from the retaliation of evil deeds.

Only that individual can forbid any person from doing bad who saves himself from it, otherwise his personal deeds falsify his own sayings. Then how would his conversation be useful? Certainly those people will begin to be saved from wicked deeds due to the warning of a Messenger (peace be upon Him) who are sensible. And they will deserve the Mercy of Allah Almighty. The sign of God’s kindness in the world is that Rule of Safety and Peace is established everywhere and the heart of everyone are satisfied. Nobody afflicts any other. The people feel happiness when they perform good work and support one another to become good.

Commentary
Allah Almighty commands that Prophet Noah (peace be upon Him) said to the chieftains of His nation (who related to Him: Lo! We see thee surely in manifest error). The words of Noah for replying to them; are: Neither there is any defect in my sense and nor I have gone astray. The only matter is that I am a Messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, Who is your Lord too as well as of mine.

I convey unto you the messages of my Lord, am your well-wisher and desire heartily that your condition should be right, so that you may be saved from destruction and ruin. Allah Almighty has revealed unto Me the matters, from which you are unaware.

We came to know some very important matters from the answer of the Messenger Noah (peace be upon Him):

1.    The Messenger of Allah Almighty discloses such Revelations which are not understandable by those people who have been entangled in false traditions and customs of the world and who are lovers of their personal benefits. They consider many of instructions against their existing expedience, because the base of those commands lie on such foreseeing matters, from which these miserly people are free. Therefore, they decide regarding the Messengers (peace be upon Them) that They are not on the Straight Path (God forbid).

2.    Although the sense of many people is not sufficient for knowing the Revelations manifested by the Messenger (peace be upon Him), but everyone can observe oneself some such qualities into Their personality by meditating, which would be sufficient to assure that such kind of individual can never be a liar or dishonest. The Messenger (peace be upon Him) acts and behaves in such a way that everybody can believe that He is true (provided that the observer is a fair player).

Any Messenger (peace be upon Him) is known by some peculiarities:

·         He (peace be upon Him) claims: I am a Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds Who brings up every living being. Therefore, His manners are highest.

·         He informs the people about such things which are useful for the entire humanity and pure from selfishness. So He does not demand anything for Himself from the people and dwells usually in poverty.

·         His teachings are full of human sympathy and good-will.

·         He was never pupil or disciple of any human being. Allah Almighty teaches Him directly such Words which are not known by any other person. That Individual who has these qualities, we should accept His Guidance and act upon the Commands delivered by Him (peace be upon Him).

Commentary
It was discussed in the previous verses that Allah Almighty says: We have arranged to bring the earth to life through raining for mankind’s apparent and physical life, so that vegetables, fruit and grains maybe produced from it and food may be provided for the body of human being.

From here, this description begins that (Allah Almighty explains): Similarly We have arranged for mankind’s hidden and spiritual life and We have sent Our Messages unto human beings through the Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon Them), which are like the rain for bringing their souls to life. If they will act upon those Revelations, their souls will become verdant, green and prosperous as the earth with rain, but some souls are entirely like barren land, as the rain is never useful for them.

It is commanded that the Children of Adam along with Him and His wife - Eve (peace be upon Them), who were sent down on the earth for dwelling, they carried on going the straight path, prescribed for them for a long time. But after some period they began to go astray. Then Allah Almighty sent unto them Prophet Noah (peace be upon Him) as His Messenger, He caused to understand His nation and preached: Behold! Worship God only. There is none your worthy of worship save Him. If you chose others as worshiped leaving Allah Almighty, I fear that on the Day of Resurrection, which is a very Awful Day, you will suffer very painful Doom and retribution.

Hearing these words of Prophet Noah (peace be upon Him), the chieftains, the rich and honored people from His nation said: O Noah (peace be upon Him)! We have felt that you have lost your sense (God forbid), because we have found manifest signs of straying into You.

The Commentators explain that Adam (peace be upon Him) had declared before His children that: Satan has caused to come us out from the Garden, and Allah Almighty has admonished us that: If you worshiped Me only after knowing Me in the world and did not ascribe any partner with Me, then after death, on the Day of Judgment, after counting your deeds, the successful people will be entered into the Garden again. It manifests that there are two Pillars of the Religion:

·         Original Unity (Oneness of God) and

·         The Belief in the Doomsday.

The Children of Adam (peace be upon Him) kept their footing on the Unity for a long time and many individuals of higher dignity were born into them. The common people were so much attached to them that after their death, they made their idols and began to worship them. Therefore, Messenger Noah (peace be upon Him) was sent to admonish them.

Quran Chapter 7 – 58 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-967) - درس قرآن

Summary of previous two lessons

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Commentary
The Ways of recognizing and worshiping Allah Almighty have been described in this Section. First three verses draw attention of mankind towards such things which are above the earth and some of which are visible by the human eye, whereas some of them are hidden from human eye, where our ordinary eye does not work. The mankind has been trying to investigate them since long, and has discovered many such things, with which his sight may reach very far. These things which are above the earth are called Kaa-e-naatul Jaww (those all things which exist and are visible in between the heaven and the earth.

That was sufficient to confound the sense of human being which was visible with ordinary sight. Whereas, which can be seen easily now with binoculars and telescopes, that is not only astonishing but is horrible too. The Belief of sensible people increases continuously in Allah Almighty and His Omnipotence at the time of every new discovery. And the confidence outdoes regarding this matter that really this Command of Holy Qur’an that: The study of those all things which exist and are visible in between the heaven and the earth; strengthens the Faith, is entirely correct. As these all things of the universe are sources of the Cognition of Allah Almighty at their own, but here, the main aim is to draw attention towards the administrative influence, which those things put on the earth. Since the dwelling place of the human being is the earth, so; that thing which affects good on the earth, that is appearance of the Mercy of its Lord for it. By knowing them, perception regarding thanks giving to our Lord is produced, which persuades the human beings towards the obedience of their God (Almighty).

In the last two verses, those blessings have been mentioned which Allah Almighty has revealed for the benefit of His servants i.e. mankind especially on the earth and which can be understood easily by the human being with ordinary attention. When he will understand it, then it is sure that he will be thankful to his Lord, and this thanks-giving is actual reason of his deliverance. These blessings have two aspects:

·         Apparent

·         Hidden

Apparent advantage is: Pleasant seasonal winds blow and bring the clouds besieging them from all around and where it needed, unite them. The water rains from those clouds. When that raining descends on the land, the dead earth revives. The greenness begins to appear and after a few days; luxuriant crops begin to bloom. Flowers and fruit begin to come on the plants and the trees and after a few days, enough stocks of grains, harvest and fruit are collected. And the things for physical rest and facility of the human being are supplied. It rains due to useful effects of the things held between the heaven and the earth. From the process under discussion, the signs of life appear and from its production, the body of mankind, which has been created from the earth, develops.

Indication towards hidden aspect exists in this command that: Thus (like the earth) shall We bring forth the dead; that haply ye may remember.

Human being is collection of body and soul, and the soul is actual life. Bringing it to life needs: Angels, Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) and the Scriptures of Allah Almighty. It rains Guidance by means of Them. As good land gains advantage from the rain, similarly; good mankind reaps advantage from the rain of Guidance, whereas bad individual remains debarred like bad earth.

Capability of the Produce

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

58.  And as for the good land, its vegetation cometh forth by permission of its Lord; while as for that which is bad, only the useless cometh forth (from it). Thus do We recount the Tokens for people who give thanks.
58.  Wal-baladut-tayyibu  yakhruju  nabaa-tuhuu  bi-‘izni  Rabbih.  Wallazii  khabusa  laa yakhruju  ‘illaa  nakidaa.  Kazaalika  Nusarriful-‘Aayaati  li-qaw-miny-yash-kuruun.

Commentary
Baladu – (a city, a town), actually it aims - that part of land, which is, whether fertile or barren, cultivated or uncultivated, a collection of nearby parts of land are called baladah, in which some portion of land may be populated and some un-inhabited. This word has come in the previous lesson too. On both places, it aims - the land and its population, which is called a city or a town.

Nakida – (worthless, bad, defective), a very little thing, which is acquired in most difficult condition

Yash-kuruun – (they give thanks), its origin is shukr. Shukr means “to admit someone’s kindness”, only that individual accepts who recognizes that, it is good, which has been given to me (him). Therefore, translation of this word would be here: those people who understand that they have been given good thing.

It was explained in the previous lesson that Allah Almighty sends raining water with His Kindness to bring the dead land to life again and freshness is produced with it in dry ground and then vegetables, grass, fruit and flowers of various sorts come out from it.

It has been mentioned in this verse that: Rain is good for the entire land, in which, power of giving life to it exists, but proficiency of the land has some interference in it also. The good land will be more advantageous from the rain according to its ability, vegetables, greenness, useful grass; trees of fruit and the plants of flowers will grow in it, whereas, if the land is bad for example; barren, saline or stony, then the rain will not be so much useful for that land. First of all nothing will grow there, but if something grew, that would be difficultly, very less and maximum from it would be useless thorny bushes etc.

It is commanded that it is Our way of causing to know that We explain Our Revelations in different forms and change their words for dictation, so that the wise people and thanks givers reap advantage from them.

Quran Chapter 7 – 57 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-965) - درس قرآن

Management of the land

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

57.  And He it is Who sendeth the winds as tidings heralding His mercy, till, when they bear a cloud heavy (with rain), We lead it to a dead land, and then cause water to descend thereon and thereby bring forth fruits of every kind. Thus shall We bring forth the dead; that haply ye may remember.
57.  Wa  Huwallazii  yursilurri-yaaha  bushram-bayna  yaday  rahmatih.  Hattaaa  ‘izaaa  ‘aqallat  sahaaban  siqaalan-  suqNaahu  li-baladim-mayyitin-  fa-‘anzalNaa  bihil-maaa-‘a  fa-‘akhrajNaa  bihii  min-  kullis-samaraat.  Kazaalika  Nukhrijul-mawtaa  la-‘alla-kum  tazakkaruun.

Commentary
‘Aqallat – (bore, burdened), it is past tense, origin of which is ‘iqlaalun. This word has been derived from qillatun. Actual meaning of it is “to be less” and its opposite word is kasratun (to be more). Many words are made from it as “’aqli-yat, qillat, qaliil etc.” After that, its meaning became “to burden, to bear”, because any loader will lift anything at that time, when it will consider the load less than its capacity. In this meaning, the word ‘iqlaal is used, which means “to bear”.

One more word ‘istaqlaal also has the same meaning, that is to say; to pick up own weight oneself, and consider it less, whether it is heavy, and without getting support in this matter from any other. In this verse, those things regarding rectification of the earth have been mentioned, which Allah Almighty has fixed with His Omnipotence, and in which any mankind cannot interfere.

It is commanded: Behold! In what manner Allah Almighty has arranged to rain on the land with His Mercy? At first, the pleasant winds blow. Then those winds bring the clouds by collecting from hither and thither. After that, Allah Almighty showers down the water on the earth from it. Resultant, delicious fruit and beautiful flowers come out from the land after raining.

Think over it and you will come to know that as Allah Almighty brought the dead land to life with His Mercy by causing to rain the water, similarly, He will bring to life the human beings after death. Being dried or parched of the land is just like its death.

You see that Allah Almighty brings it to life again by means of the rain, in like manner, He has such sources, with which, the dead mankind will come back to life and after being alive, the human beings will acquire reward or punishment according to their good or bad deeds.

But remember it that you have to reap advantage in this world from the spiritual rain, which Allah Almighty poured down through His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) and Holy Scriptures, if you wish to prosper (bud and blossom).

Invitation for thinking - Quran Chapter 7 – 56 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-964) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 7 – 56 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-964) - درس قرآن

Invitation for thinking

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Three verses of that Section end here, which had begun from Lesson # 961. We should not go forth without considering thoughtfully in it. Holy Qur’an teaches us itself that we should recite its verses and stay at considerable point for thinking that: What do these verses desire to instruct us? Therefore, we should consider into them thoughtfully twice, thrice or as much as we can.

At the end of the Section before this, it was described that when the evildoers and disobedient people will see with their eyes the doom of the Fire of Hell and blessings of the Garden, they will scream spontaneously: Those Messengers (peace be upon Them), whom Allah Almighty had sent unto us in the world, they used to speak the quite truth.

Would that we have any intercessor today, who may intercede for us, so that we may be delivered from this severe torment and we can be returned to life on the earth that we may act and show becoming obedient servants of our Lord. After that, it was narrated that “they have lost their souls by having trust in their baseless views.

After drawing so much clear plan of heart-breaking future event, it was necessary that the method of “How to be saved from that doom” was required to be explained clearly; so that the human being would not have any such reason that “We were not caused to know “How to be saved from such heart-breaking grief and repentance”.

These verses have been causing to understand that your Lord, Whose Revelations will you accept after looking as the Truth on the Day of Judgment, you will be convinced that He and His Messengers (peace be upon Them) were True, today He desires to describe you through these verses that you should know Him today, and escape from every kind of grief, repentance and anguish of the Day of Resurrection, and He, Who is Lord and Allah Almighty (Eminent is God’s Glory), Who is Creator and Ruler of all.

Behold! Nothing can be born itself. Certainly anyone should be its creator. So you should understand from it that this vast arrangement of the heavens, the earth and the universe, in which, the sun, the moon and the stars have been doing their work at their own places. Something is moving whereas something is static. Sometimes it is day and sometime night. Somewhere is sunshine and somewhere shade, these entire have not been created themselves. Their Creator is Allah (God) Almighty, Who is Lord of all of us. He gives Command to everything and everything obeys His Command. Nothing can disobey Him.

Brothers and sisters! It is incumbent for you too that like other entire creatures, you should admit your God and Lord to Allah Almighty and call upon Him humbly and in secret, and do not overstep the bounds of your Lord’s obedience being deceived by Satan.

See! God has made arrangement to keep this earth up till a stated term and you have been settled here and given you the most powers and strength. By sending the Messengers (peace be upon Them) and Holy Scriptures, complete and manifest Guidance have been revealed for your deeds. You should not commit any such work in the presence of these Guidance, due to which, the violence spreads in the earth, because if corruption will spread, it will spread due to your own wicked deeds. Otherwise, all remaining sources of fair ordering have been performing their duty. If your acts would be good and you established the aim doing good works, then Mercy of Allah Almighty is nigh unto you and you will be saved from all distresses of the Day of Resurrection.
